Kindle Colorsoft gets colored bookmarks
Kindle Colorsoft (and Scribe Colorsoft) reader now has color-coded bookmarks that you can add to ebooks, manga or digital comics. There are now eight different bookmark color options. Kindle has never offered color bookmarks before and even Kindle app for iPad doesn't offer this feature (though it will likely get color bookmarks soon). Users can link to different pages or cross-reference them, instead of relying on Amazon's "last read" feature. The update also adds green as an additional highlighting option.

Amazon admits Color E Ink is bad for reading
On the pages of all color Kindles in Amazon's FAQ the following note has been found: "You may notice that the display texture or brightness is different than Kindle Paperwhite display. This is due to the color filter layer that provides a comfortable reading experience for color graphics on Kindle Colorsoft. If you're looking for a sharper image in black and white, consider Kindle Paperwhite." Other companies selling color e-readers and e-notes generally avoid acknowledging that color screens have any disadvantages compared to black and white ones. Usually they use terms like "soft" and "soothing" to describe color e-ink, beating around the bush a bit, but they typically don't explicitly say that other black and white devices offer better contrast and reading experience.
