Spritz

Spritz
Spritz is a mobile app that displays a book (or web content) one word at a time. As you read each word, your eyes focus on the key red letter in that word, prompting your brain to quickly recognize and process its meaning. The developers say that average reader typically reads around 200 words per minute with 60% understanding, but with Spritz, people quickly reach speeds of 300 wpm or more, achieving 90% understanding. Besides, Spritz reduces eye movement while reading and reduces the number of eye-word intersections required for understanding. In addition to the mobile app, browser extension is available for reading on the desktop.

2015. Spritz - speed-reading app that wants to change the way people read

New speed-reading app Spritz aims to revolutionize the reading experience and improve communication efficiency by presenting content one word at a time using patented redicle technology. The app highlights the key letter - the "optimal recognition point" - and keeps the reader's attention there, enabling faster and more comfortable text flow, even in tight spaces. This technology can also be integrated into various media formats, such as books, photos, maps, videos and websites. Through partnerships with popular news sites, Spritz allows users to stay up-to-date on global events while improving their reading speed and comprehension.

2014. Oyster Teams up With Spritz to Bring Faster Reading Experience

Ebook subscription service Oyster and text streaming startup Spritz have joined forces to deliver a reading experience like never before. With growing enthusiasm around Spritz’s capabilities, Oyster is excited to offer the first platform where the public can read a full-length, in-copyright book using Spritz’s speed-reading technology. Available at OysterBooks.com/Spritz, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”—the acclaimed business book by Stephen Covey with over 20 million copies sold to date—is available for free reading with Spritz technology. The 432 print pages of the book can be completed in under 2 hours. This initiative represents a pioneering collaboration and Oyster and Spritz are eager to receive feedback from users about the experience. They will review the response and consider introducing additional full-length, in-copyright books to the public together in the future.
