Flash Reader
iOS app that displays words so fast your brain can't pronounce them, yet it allows you understand and remember everything you read thanks to the Received Statement (RSVP) feature. Settings include words per minute (WPM), words per second (WPS), themes, fonts, and font sizes. You can import PDF and ePub files, as well as TXT, RTF, DOC, DOCX, AZW (Amazon Kindle), ODT (OpenDocument), and MOBI documents. You can also sync articles from Pocket, Instapaper, and Dropbox directly to the app. Bookmarks allow you to resume reading right where you left off.

There is so much on the internet that I want to read, but I get distracted, re-read what I've already read when I come back, etc. With this, I copy the text of an article, open up Flash Reader, and I'm immediately asked if I want to import from my clipboard--- I click yes, and I'm off! Set to large text for easier comprehension, pause with just a tap, rewind is fairly easy (would love to see a 'quick rewind' button, like for audiobooks, to jump back a few seconds at a time).

I actually read all those articles I leave open on my tabs now, and in very short time! I slow it down when it's something dense, and speed up when it's just blah blah stuff I have to get through. Love it, thanks Flash Reader!

This is certainly worth it. As they add functionality over time, it will only get better. RSVP is a reading tech that is useful, I’ve found, for certain types of material. You will stun yourself at how quickly you can absorb the right material if you relax your mind and focus and let the info in. I think apps like Outread are more useful for more material, but Flash Reader is a definite value add and worth using too. Amazing variety of importing formats.

I personally prefer speed reading apps which present a page and flash a highlighted word. However, this app deserves special mention for its ease of use and the fact that it can handle pdf's. Also has a useful bookmarklet: find an article in safari, hit a saved bookmark, and in seconds you're speed reading in the app. Nicely done!
