Kindle Paperwhite
Kindle Paperwhite remains the best choice for most readers thanks to its excellent price-performance ratio. It features a crisp 7-inch display with a 300 ppi resolution and adjustable warm backlighting, on which text appears sharp and perfectly rendered, almost like ink on paper. The fast processor ensures smooth page turns and more fluid navigation, even when reading large PDFs and illustrated novels. The battery life lasts up to 12 weeks. Its thin case with IPX8 water resistance and light weight make it convenient for travel and commuting. Kindle Paperwhite is available in both Wi-Fi and cellular versions.

2026. Boox Go 6 (Gen 2) gets handwriting support

Onyx Boox has released a new 6-inch Boox Go 6 (Gen 2) model, which closely resembles Kindle Paperwhite. Both devices feature flush-mounted screens, the main difference being that Kindle comes in black, while the Boox Go 6 (Gen 2) comes in white. The new Boox Go 6 also features a ribbed, suitcase-like design, unlike the smooth body of Kindle Paperwhite. The most significant upgrade to the second generation of Boox Go 6 is handwriting support. You can now connect the e-reader to the Boox InkSense Plus stylus and use the built-in notes app to annotate books, take notes and keep a journal. This definitely gives the Go 6 an advantage over the Paperwhite, which lacks note-taking capabilities. The device runs Android 11 with the Google Play Store built in.
