Mihon vs TachiyomiSY

August 29, 2025 | Author: Maria Lin
Mihon and TachiyomiSY are both free and open source Android apps for reading manga from online sources (developed by the same guy). They are both forks of the old Tachiyomi app, which was closed. They support popular file formats (CBZ/CBR, ZIP, PDF), support the ability to install third-party extensions, interface customization, save reading history and bookmarks.

But Mihon focuses on stability and interface minimalism. It is a lightweight app with a simple interface. Mihon only supports official extensions and has stricter rules regarding content.

TachiyomiSY is a more advanced app for experienced users. It has advanced search and sorting filters, flexible interface and reading customization features and the ability to adjust chapter updates. The app supports any custom extensions, but stability may suffer.
