2025. PocketBook released Verse Lite - 6-inch entry-level eReader

Pocketbook has released a new entry-level model called the Verse Lite, which essentially strips out all the original features of the regular Verse to lower the price (to €115). Compared to the regular Verse, it lacks page-turn buttons, warm backlighting, rotation sensor, microSD card slot and it's battery is 33% smaller (1000 mAh). It has a 6-inch screen and backlighting, but no color temperature adjustment. Wi-Fi is supported, but there's no Bluetooth for audiobooks or text-to-speech like in the Verse Pro. And of course it's not waterproof. It runs Pocketbook's Linux-based software and supports common e-book formats, including Adobe EPUB and LCP DRM.

2023. Pocketbook unveiled Verse e-reader with Text-to-speech

Pocketbook has introduced two new e-readers: the Verse and Verse Pro, both with 6-inch screens. These new models replace the Touch Lux 5 and Touch HD 3. Verse Pro is a premium model ($169.99) with an E Ink Carta HD screen and IPX8 protection. The e-reader features a smart backlight for reading both day and night. It's powered by 1500 mAh battery, is sized 108 x 156 x 7.6 mm and weighs 186 g. The Pro version supports text-to-speech, which converts any text file into an audio track, speaking it in one of 26 available languages. PocketBook Verse is a more affordable ($129.99) e-reader with an E Ink Carta touchscreen and SMARTlight. Physical page turn buttons are located at the bottom of the screen. This model also features a MicroSD memory card of up to 128 GB, USB-C port, G-sensor, Wi-Fi and 1500 mAh battery.
