Foxit Reader vs SumatraPDF

April 29, 2026 | Author: Maria Lin
Foxit Reader and SumatraPDF are both free PDF readers for Windows. They are both fairly lightweight and fast (compared to Adobe Reader), feature text search, allow opening multiple files simultaneously and support page zooming.

However, Foxit Reader is more feature-rich. It offers advanced annotation tools, form filling and signing support, cloud integration, extension support, even editing feature (in the paid version). It has more modern interface.

SumatraPDF, on the other hand, is very lightweight and fast. It has a simpler, minimalist interface without unnecessary features. A portable version is available. In addition to PDF, it supports EPUB, MOBI and DJVU formats. Another advantage is its open source nature.
