Bookman vs GoodReader

March 17, 2026 | Author: Maria Lin
Bookman and GoodReader are both reading and book management apps for iOS. They support opening PDFs, taking notes and annotations in documents, managing collections, importing files from cloud services and working offline.

But Bookman is a simple reader app, supporting not only PDF books but also CBR and CBZ comics and images. The app has a minimalist interface and flexible reading settings (fonts and themes). Its bookshelf-like interface displays each book beautifully, like a real book. You can create a new bookshelf and organize your books by categories, such as comics, novels, magazines and so on.

GoodReader is a professional app for working only with PDFs. It can be used for reading, but it's more geared toward working with business documents. It offers advanced PDF annotation tools, supports complicated PDF formatting, has built-in file manager, allows working with FTP, WebDAV and other sources. Its interface is more complex and functional.
