Apple Books vs Audible in our news:

2025. Audible developed advanced AI tools for audiobook publishers

Audible has unveiled a new set of tools for publishers to create AI-narrated audiobooks. They include 100 AI-generated voices across English, Spanish, French and Italian with multiple accents and dialect options and they will be able to access voice upgrades for their titles. Audible handles the entire audiobook production process for selected titles, managing every step from initial text ingestion to published audiobook, but publishers can access the same underlying technology while directing their production process, independently producing high-quality audiobooks. Publishers can also opt for human review from professional linguists to ensure translation accuracy and cultural nuance and will be able to review the translations themselves in our text editor.

2015. Apple iBooks improves listening audiobooks

Apple has just released iOS 9.2 with updated iBooks app. iBooks now includes support for 3D Touch, allowing users to peek and pop into pages from the table of contents, notes and bookmarks, or search results with force press gestures. iBooks also includes support for listening to an audiobook while browsing a library, reading other books, or viewing the iBooks Store.
