Here are the latest news about Collectorz.com Book Collector:

30.01.26. CLZ Book Collector added reading history tracking

CLZ Books Web now features reading history tracking. It allows you to not only mark books as read but also track multiple reading sessions, enter both start and end dates and even track your reading progress, i.e., the number of pages read out of the total. You can also use folders to group by reader, reading status, year read, month read or reading date to get a good overview of which books you or someone else in your family is reading, finished or abandoned during each period. Your full reading history is displayed in a separate section on the book details panel, as well as in the new "Reading Statistics" section. The developers have also added intelligent automation settings for starting and ending a reading event. You can fine-tune what CLZ Books Web does when adding a new reading event or setting the status to "Completed." For example, you can allow the end date to be automatically populated when setting the status to "Completed."

2023. CLZ Books allows to use multiple folder levels

Collectorz.com has released a significant update to its CLZ Books mobile app, introducing a usefull feature that expands the ability to browse and filter books in your collection. This update allows users to use multiple levels of folders (in the previous version it supported only one level with folders Author, Publisher, Subject, Location and so on). However, the latest version now allows you to combine folders. For example, you can now open Publisher folders and create Author folders within each of them. Additionally, the app now includes a set of pre-created multi-level favorite folders that are both convenient and practical, such as "Publisher/Author," "Publication Year/Author," and "Purchase Year/Retailer"

2023. Book Collector adds 3 completely new data fields and 4 new sync fields

The new version of Book Collector (v23) has added 3 completely new data fields and 4 new cloud-sync fields. The new fields (Signed By, Dust Jacket and Number Line) were added to all of our book database solutions (mobile, web and desktop). Also, you can now finally sync these existing Book Collector fields through the CLZ Cloud to the CLZ Books mobile app (Cover Artist, Foreword Author, Ghostwriter and Box Set). The similar updates have also been released for the CLZ Books mobile apps and Book Connect web-based software so all 7 fields now nicely sync between all of them.

Cripple ware meaning only part functions till you buy a lic. no time for such trash.

No printing of lists; no export to html. Every update is a paid one. There must be better ones for the mac.

This is not bad, but I would agree with some of the negative reports. No webcam support, I use a third party software to build a list of ISBNs. Then, it is painfully slow looking up. My iPad app Book Crawler is much better and much cheaper (I only wish it had a PC equivelant).

No Amazon lookups - you must input info if not found in their exclusive database. This info then updates their db. You work for them for free.
Nonexistant customer support. In their forums, they have ridicule support emails they've received.

This will look up books based on ISBN and you can import a list of ISBNs, all very useful for me. It also has a scanner interface that I have not tested, as I am using a webcam to scan ISBNs to a file.

Using the book's bar code makes for speedy entry, good sorting options, copying to iPod or similar devices, this program seems to have it all.
