Pocketbook Era Color features an ergonomic design with sleek page-turning buttons and G-sensor (which allows you to use the Era in both landscape and portrait modes). It also features a 7-inch color display with the latest E Ink Kaleido 3 technology (4096 colors). Adaptive SMARTlight backlighting allows to choose between warm and cool backlighting tones. Built-in speaker and Bluetooth provide full audiobook support. Text-to-speech function converts any text file into audio for free. IPX8 water resistance means the device can be submerged in fresh water to a depth of 2 meters for up to 60 minutes without any damage. The device supports 25 ebook formats, including comics and manga. A USB-C port allows for charging and data transfer.

Ukrainian company Pocketbook has become a major shareholder and co-owner of Bigme, a Chinese brand with extensive experience in producing e-readers and e-notebooks with E INK screens. This is Pocketbook's first significant acquisition since its founding in 2012. Pocketbook claims that it has not only become a shareholder and co-owner of Bigme but is also actively involved in its product development.
