Pocketbook Era
The premium 7-inch ereader with E Ink Carta™ 1200 capacitive touchscreen protected by a layer of glass and is flush with the bezel. It's IPX8-waterproof so you can use it for reading in the bathroom or outdoors. It also promises improved scratch protection. The ergonomic case with side control buttons and G-sensor ensures comfort of reading. It has built-in speaker and Bluetooth for audio book listening and text-to-speech tool that turns any text file into an audiobook. You can regulate the brightness and coloring temperature with SMARTlight feature. As all Pocketbook models it supports most popular text, comic and graphic formats

Tolino Epos
Tolino Epos 3 is a copy of the 8-inch Kobo Sage for the German market. It's a premium e-reader with some of the best technical features. Turning pages is easy with manual page-turning buttons, and the new E INK Carta 1200 e-ink technology makes the entire process incredibly fast. The main advantage is that you can buy books from over 16 different bookstores and libraries, and collaborate with them all, not just with Kobo. Unlike the Sage, the Epos lacks note-taking features. Although the Epos has Bluetooth, it lacks an audio player, as most Tolino bookstores don't sell audiobooks. Also, the Kobo Power Cover is incompatible with the Epos, so you can't increase the capacity of its measly 1200 mAh battery. Working with PDFs is also terrible due to a poorly configured rendering engine.

2026. PocketBook released more affordable Era Lite

Pocketbook has released the new 7-inch Era Lite e-reader with a black-and-white screen. It shares the same design as the original Era and Era Color, with physical page-turning buttons on the handle-side of the screen (as well as power and menu buttons). It has a lower water resistance rating (IPX4 instead of IPX8) and less storage (16 GB instead of 32 GB), but most other features are the same. It features a USB-C port, adjustable color temperature backlighting, a rotation sensor, a lid-open sensor, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1700 mAh battery. The price is more affordable than the base models at $199.
