2012. PocketBook unveils first eReader with Color E Ink screen

PocketBook has introduced a new e-reader, the PocketBook Color, featuring a color E Ink display combined with a frontlight. So far, color E Ink technology hasn't achieved great success due to its need for high ambient light for vibrant colors; otherwise, colors tend to look dim and washed out. The addition of the frontlight aims to address this issue. Unlike previous models with 9.7-inch screens, the PocketBook Color uses an 8-inch Triton display. It supports 4096 colors and has a resolution of 800×600. Additionally, it includes PocketBook’s advanced firmware, which is PDF-friendly and supports a wide range of formats.
