Kindle Colorsoft
Amazon's first color Kindle with a 7-inch high-contrast display and almost true-to-life colors. Its Page Color feature inverts black text and white background pages within books. It's also possible to highlight text in different colors. A single USB-C charge lasts up to 8 weeks (meaning the color display doesn't affect battery life). The e-reader can be charged using a wireless dock (sold separately). The glare-free display and automatically adjusting backlighting allow to read in bright sunlight and late at night. The waterproof case is made from recycled materials. The e-reader is ideal for reading comics and children's books (you can create separate children's profiles).

Kobo Clara Colour
Kobo Clara Colour is a 6-inch color E Ink e-reader with a waterproof case. It has a calming, subdued color palette and its matte screen with a soft backlight eliminates glare in sunlight and in the dark. ComfortLight PRO technology automatically reduces blue light levels throughout the day. 16 GB of storage is enough for 12,000 e-books or 75 Kobo audiobooks. Audiobooks can only be listened to via Bluetooth headphones (there is no speaker). The device supports the Instapaper app for saving online articles for offline reading at your convenience.

2026. Kindle Colorsoft gets colored bookmarks

Kindle Colorsoft (and Scribe Colorsoft) reader now has color-coded bookmarks that you can add to ebooks, manga or digital comics. There are now eight different bookmark color options. Kindle has never offered color bookmarks before and even Kindle app for iPad doesn't offer this feature (though it will likely get color bookmarks soon). Users can link to different pages or cross-reference them, instead of relying on Amazon's "last read" feature. The update also adds green as an additional highlighting option.
