Kapowarr and Komga are both open source self-hosted servers for handling comics. Often these programs are used together: Kapowarr automates downloading, Komga — reading/distributing books. Both are installed on top of Docker, provide a web interface for managing books, API for integrations/scripts.
But Kapowarr is originally a program for monitoring, searching and downloading new issues in comic series. It works with indexers/trackers via Torznab/Jackett/Prowlarr, downloads files directly and from cloud hostings like MediaFire/Mega, extracts archives and renames contents, arranges files into folders, parses metadata about volumes and issues. It has filters by format, language, size, manual search and download of missed issues, import of an existing library with series comparison
Komga is initially a library server with built-in web reader that supports CBZ/CBR/PDF/EPUB formats. It allows to create comic book collections, reading lists, generate covers, create multi-user access to the library, set up profiles and age restrictions. Available functions include OPDS support for third-party reader-apps, reading progress synchronization and "continue from where you left off", search for duplicate files and pages.
