IBookshelf vs My Library

March 10, 2026 | Author: Maria Lin
IBookshelf and My Library are both apps for managing your personal home library. They allow you to add books manually, sort them by various parameters, store author and title information and help you track read and unread books.

However, iBookshelf is more focused on digital books. It has an interface similar to a virtual bookshelf, stores e-book covers and metadata, supports syncing between devices, converts e-book formats and has a built-in reader.

My Library is more often used for managing paper books. It allows you to scan ISBN barcodes and automatically add books. It also offers tools for tracking borrowed books and allows you to maintain a wish list (so you don't get lost in a bookstore). The program's interface is a simpler book list.
