Kindle Unlimited
Amazon's subscription platform for e-books, audiobooks, selected magazines and periodicals, offering the largest selection (5 million digital titles) at a reasonable price (around $12/month). Kindle Unlimited offers many books in the $3–$8 range (if purchased individually) so if you read two or three books a month, the subscription usually pays for itself. Books can be read and listened to on Kindle e-readers or in the free Kindle app on your computer, tablet or smartphone. However, not all bestsellers or new releases from major publishers are available. The subscription operates like a "library" - you can have a certain number of books at a time (usually up to 20 at a time), return them and borrow new ones.
Forgotten Books vs Kindle Unlimited in our news:

2024. Kindle Unlimited added new Discover tool

Amazon Bookstore is not good at recommending interesting books. So the company has recently unveiled a new Discover tab on Kindle Unlimited service. It lists a bunch of bestsellers that you might want to download. On the main Discover page are two abs: Genre and More. Genre lists the main categories that someone might want to explore, such as mystery, romance, memoir, fantasy and science fiction. Once you select a genre, it will display several popular books, but you can also further refine your search by choosing a sub-genre. This will only show books you would enjoy in various categories. Clicking on More will allow you to filter books by starred ratings, so if you click on five stars, it will only display books where most users have rated a particular book very highly. You can also sort by popularity, which is selected by default, but sorting alphabetically is also an option.

2014. Amazon launched own ebook subscription service Kindle Unlimited

Amazon is launching an all-you-can-read subscription ebook service Kindle Unlimited to compete with firms like Scribd and Oyster. The service is only available in the U.S. for now. Kindle Unlimited will allow to choose from a selection of about 640,000 ebooks and read as many as you want for $9.99 per month. In addition to offering over 600,000 ebooks, Kindle Unlimited is also by far the most cost-effective way to enjoy audiobooks and eBooks together. With thousands of Whispersync for Voice-enabled audiobooks to choose from, you can easily switch between reading and listening to a book, allowing the story to continue even when your eyes are busy.
