Evince and Foxit Reader are both popular PDF reader programs. They work on Linux, support bookmarks and TOC navigation and offer zoom and full-screen mode, allow to search in book text, print documents and open password-protected files.

However, Evince is a completely free and open-source program developed as part of the GNOME desktop environment and integrated with Linux. It has a lightweight, fast and minimalistic interface without ads. In addition to PDF, it supports PS, DjVu, TIFF, XPS formats and uses the poppler library for rendering.

Foxit Reader is a commercial product with free and paid versions. In addition to Linux, it runs on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. It offers more advanced annotation and editing tools and its interface is familiar to Windows users. It supports electronic signatures and PDF encryption, offers cloud syncing and collaboration, integrates with Microsoft Office and other enterprise systems.
