DjVuLibre vs WinDjView

October 29, 2025 | Author: Maria Lin
DjVuLibre and WinDjView are both free, open-source desktop programs for viewing DjVu files. They support bookmarks and page navigation (using TOC and links), can zoom and rotate pages, correctly display text, graphics and annotations, support text search (if an OCR layer is available).

But DjVuLibre is a cross-platform reader available for Linux, macOS and Windows. Its minimalist interface is more developer-oriented. It includes a set of command-line utilities for working with DjVu (for example, for batch processing and conversion), a library for integration with other programs and is often used on servers and in automated systems.

WinDjView is Windows-only software that has more user-friendly interface with panels and tabs. It supports annotations and text highlighting, allows to export pages to images, customize hotkeys and page display, features faster and smoother page scrolling.
