Citavi and Scrivener are both knowledge management software (for Windows) that allow you to structure content and notes. They are used in academic and creative environments, provide tools for organizing bibliographies and references, support text export to various formats and integrate with external data sources.

But Citavi is an article management software focused on managing sources and citations. It is used for writing research papers - integrates with Word and allows to automatically insert correct and beautiful links to third-party research articles. The program features a built-in literature database, search index for keywords and collaboration capabilities via own Citavi Cloud.

Scrivener is primarily a program for book authors and screenwriters. It allows you to write a book like a mosaic: combine drafts into a single project, organize them chronologically or by various criteria, easily find relevant passage. The program's main interface is a corkboard for organizing ideas and materials without strict categories. The program also has an editor with a minimalist interface to focus on writing.
